If you find yourself standing on a chair or any platform, to reach a bottle of wine in your tall wine racks, it is now time to invest in a rolling library ladder! At Custom Wine Cellars Florida, we will add one or more ladders to your racking design for easy access to bottles in wine racks beyond your reach. A ladder will also add aesthetic value to your storage space.
How a Wine Cellar Ladder Can Benefit You
It is hard to grab a bottle of wine located at the topmost sections of your tall wine racks. Nowadays, many wine cellar builders, including Custom Wine Cellars Florida, incorporate ladders into the racking design of their clients.
A ladder provides convenience to owners who have wine racks that extend all the way to a high ceiling.
Additionally, a ladder is also an affordable way to add a unique feature to your residential or commercial wine cellar (hotel, retail store, restaurant, wine bar, or wine tasting room).
Wine Cellar Ladders Styles and Options
At Custom Wine Cellars Florida, we customize wine cellar ladders to meet the specific requirements of each client. These ladders are also known as “rolling library ladders.” They are attached to a railing so they can be moved from one wall to another.
You may choose to have a custom recess where you can keep your ladder when you are not using it.
A recess is recommended if your wine cellar does not have a large space for moving around.
There are two styles of a rolling ladder: straight and bent. For the material, you may choose a ladder made of wood or metal.
Straight and Bent Rolling Ladders for Custom Wine Cellars in Florida
We use the straight wine cellar ladders in most of our construction projects. They are ideal for single-deep wine racks without tasting tables. Bent rolling ladders are used if there are tabletops, double-deep wine racks, or cabinets in a wine cellar.
Wood and Metal Library Ladders
Wood is the common material that we use for wine room ladders. It adds a classic appeal to a wine cellar.
We use high-quality hardwoods including Mahogany, Alder, Red Oak, Maple, Cherry, Birch, Walnut, and White Oak. You may choose to leave the wood unfinished or apply a clear coat or stain for a glossy effect. It is best to use the same type of wood for your ladder and wine racks.
We recommend aluminum rolling wine cellar ladders for spaces with a modern design. However, metal ladders also go well with traditional wine storage spaces.
Metal ladders are also sturdy, elegant, and easy to clean and maintain. They can last for many years with proper care.
Finish options for metal rolling ladders include standard milled aluminum, gloss black, white, matte, metallic beige, or colored powder coat. Our design specialist will help choose the best material and finish option for your ladder.
Other Features of Our Wine Cellar Rolling Ladders
Our ladders are equipped with features that will make wine collecting hassle-free, convenient, and easy. We allow customization options for wine cellar ladders to suit the functional and aesthetic preferences of our clients.
Handrails
The handrails are not a standard inclusion in our library ladders. You may request for its addition so you can move from one wall to another.
Ladder handrails are useful in wine cellars with racking installed in more than one wall. They allow you to transfer the ladder quickly from one racking to another without lifting the ladder.
Commonly, handrails are set flush to the sides of the ladder. However, if you want a more secure ladder, you must go for extended handrails.
Hardware Finishes
At Custom Wine Cellars Florida, we offer a wide range of enamel and metallic finishes for the hardware of your ladder. These finish options will allow us to choose the ideal finish that will blend well with your ladder and create a decorative accent. We apply a finish on all of the hardware parts of each ladder, including the mounting brackets, upper roller assembly, handrails, braces, and bolts.
Our standard powder-coated finishes are Silver/Gray, Black, White, Metallic, Beige Metallic (coffee with cream color and silver flecks), and Chocolate.
Wheel Housing
If you want a rolling library ladder made of wood, you can choose from two styles of wheel housing: contemporary assembly with visible wheels or a cast sunburst pattern.
For wine room ladders made of aluminum, the standard housing is the contemporary wheel assembly, which includes a brake.
Assemblies and Brackets
Roller assemblies are included in library ladders that are intended to be affixed to the ladder track permanently. This feature allows the owner to fold the ladder vertically when not in use.
On the other hand, hook assemblies are required for rolling ladders that can be removed from the track. The kind of brackets that will be used for attaching the ladder track depends on the type of assembly chosen by the owner.
No-Slip Tread
Safety is one of our priorities in building wine cellars. We will add a rubber tread to every step to prevent the person, who is using the wooden ladder, from slipping.
Track Systems for Wine Cellar Ladders
We will design your track system according to your personal choice. It can be for a single wall or multiple walls. We can create a curved track system so you can move your rolling library ladder conveniently from one wall to another.
